Griffin Longley, Board director and WA Parks Foundation Ambassador, was invited to present at the 2018 WA Tourism Conference and discussed the role of the Foundation and Entrepreneurial, Philanthropic and Community Trends in Nature-Based Tourism. Griffin said, “The conference was a great opportunity to reinforce the importance of parks to tourism in WA. People come to WA from all over the world to connect to enjoy the wild expanses we have to offer and the incredible biodiversity they host.”

The WA Tourism Conference presented jointly by Tourism Council WA, Visitor Centres WA, Caravan Industry Association WA, FACET, WAITOC, and supported by Tourism Western Australia attracted more than 350 delegates.

Held across three days, the conference provided delegates with opportunities for professional and business development, networking and engagement with industry colleagues, and the chance to hear from industry-leading speakers on critical industry issues and innovative ideas.

The WA Parks Foundation gratefully acknowledges and thanks the organisers for the wonderful job they did organising and delivering the conference and to Tourism Council WA who nominated the WA Parks Foundation as the chosen charity, generously donating $2,200 from the proceeds raised from the silent auction at the WA Tourism Conference Dinner.
