Forest Therapy – reconnecting with nature
Forest bathing is a translation from a Japanese word Shinrin-yoku. It is about taking in the forest atmosphere through all your senses, combining mindfulness techniques and the therapeutic powers of being in the natural environment.
This has been shown to have a positive effect on mood, stress levels, powers of concentration and creativity, as well as assisting with depression and anxiety.
Mindful in Nature holds regular public walks located within a one-hour drive from Perth CBD. The walks over a two-to-three-hour period are held in natural areas, forests or gardens. Private guided forest therapy walks can also be arranged for special events and occasions.
The aim is to restore a sense of deep calm, with a focus on slowing down, relaxing, awakening your senses and connecting with nature.
The walks are low impact and cover 2 km, and are suitable for people with a wide range of fitness levels.
