Government House Open Day – A Great Day
More than 4,000 visitors enjoyed the opportunity to visit Government House, and spend time in the house, ballroom and gardens on 30 April 2017. Visitors stopped by the WA Parks Foundation display to meet and chat with General Manager Melanie Wilshin, Robin Piesse, (Board Adviser, Strategy Governance) and volunteer Lori-Ann Shibish.
Most were keen to share their memories of time spent in parks and offered suggestion for ways they feel visitation can be enhanced. Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre brought along some of their charges including an echidna, a blue tongue skink and a Carnaby’s black cockatoo. Also participating were the Bibbulmun Track Foundation, Keep Australia Beautiful WA, Men of the Trees, the Incredible Creatures Mobile Farm and the WA Girl Guides. The City of Perth Band, the Salvation Army Fortress Band and other bands provided a lovely afternoon of music while the WA Scouts cooked up a tasty sausage sizzle and the Salvation Army served High Tea. The WA Parks Foundation wishes to thank everyone
