John Forrest National Park – further upgrades completed
The upgrading of Western Australia’s oldest national park continues, with a new day-use area and trails now open to visitors.
Upgrades at this scenic national park located on the edge of the Darling Scarp about 40 minutes’ drive from the Perth CBD include:
- Noolbenger trail, a new 16km off-road cycle trail now for cyclists and runners
- Little Eagle trail, a new 8km loop trail
- realignments, maintenance, and extension works to the popular Eagle View, Wildflower and Glen Brook trails
- landscaped gardens; and
- accessible picnic and barbecue facilities
Construction of a new, 730-metre access road is also underway and is due to be completed in the first half of this year.
These John Forrest National Park upgrades follow the recent award of a $1.7 million contract to construct a 270-bay carpark which will be built to the west of Glen Brook and the park’s existing visitor precinct parking area.
