This has been made possible through a partnership between the State Government (through Tourism WA and the Department of Transport) and Virgin Australia.

The deal also applies for flights from Broome and Kununurra to Perth, providing Kimberley residents with the same benefits as visitors heading north. It applies from August 3 to October 31 and negotiations are ongoing with airlines to secure further partnerships to other destinations.

The initiative builds on discounted community airfares recently secured to provide extra services to Albany, Esperance, Carnarvon and Monkey Mia.

The regional airfare ‘Getaway’ partnering is part of the WA Recovery Plan to support industry and create jobs in areas impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The discounted Perth-Kimberley fares come at a perfect time for visitors to discover the outstanding landscapes and features of the Kimberley and to attend Broome’s iconic Shinju Matsuri Festival.
