Its natural wonders of dramatic coastline, pristine beaches, sheltered waterways, ancient forests and trails are a huge drawcard for tourists from throughout the State and further afield. Autumn, with its cooler weather but plenty of sunny days, is an ideal time of the year to visit this region and an added attraction in April will be the Taste the Great Southern gourmet food and wine festival. The festival (4 to 14 April) celebrates the food, wine, people and attractions of region. Activities range across Albany, Kendenup, Denmark, Mount Barker, Frankland River, Katanning, Porongurup and Ongerup.
