Explore: Forest of Cubbies Workshop!

Take the kids to the Forest of Cubbies: Cubby Making Workshop at the York Festival!

Kids of ALL ages are invited to come help make a Forest of Cubbies. Artists Sandy McKendrick and Fiona Gavino will show you how to conceptualise and apply knotting, lashing, netmaking, binding and weaving techniques to turn plant pruning’s into an architectural adventure.

Participants will be encouraged to add to their cubby after the skills workshop, embellishing it to make their very own castle.  It’s amazing what you can achieve when you work as a team with sticks and string. Imagination required.

The Forest of Cubbies will remain onsite until the close of the festival on 10 October.
