Explore: Trapdoor Spiders of Perth

Join Dr Leanda Mason, who will be discussing findings from her PhD thesis ‘Living on burrowed time: mygalomorph spiders of Perth, Western Australia’ which investigated the main threats facing trapdoor spiders in urban areas of Perth. Some of these threats included; quality and quantity of habitats, predation from other animals, effects of invasive grasses, and fire. The second part of the talk will discuss Adj. Professor Barbara York-Main and her enormous contributions to natural sciences, and more specifically trapdoor spiders.
