The WA Parks Foundation is honoured to welcome Western Australia’s Governor, His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson APM as our new Patron. Governor Dawson’s interest and support in helping the Foundation to achieve its aims of protecting and promoting engagement with WA’s natural treasures is greatly valued.

We are also delighted to welcome the Honourable Albert Jacob GAICD. JP as a Park Ambassador and Director of the WA Parks Foundation Board. Albert has served the community in local government roles, as a member of Western Australia’s Legislative Assembly and as a Cabinet Minister in the Environment portfolio.

He is now the Mayor of Joondalup, one of WA’s largest local authorities.

“I am proud to have delivered ambitious parks and visitor infrastructure upgrades through the extensive Parks for People program,” he said.

“These have enabled a significant increase and appreciation of our parks. I am also proud to have presided over the greatest ever growth of the WA conservation estate, including a program to expand the  total State marine parks area from 1.5 million hectares to over five million hectares.”

The WA Parks Foundation is also very pleased to announce that Andrew St Pierre White has accepted our invitation to become a Parks Ambassador.
