Board changes
Highly respected Noongar Elder Dr Richard Walley OAM has retired recently after nine years’ service as a WA Parks Foundation Board Director.
“With his profound knowledge of Aboriginal culture and a deep love of Western Australia’s natural environment, Dr Walley made a very valuable contribution during his three terms on the Board and as a Park Ambassador,” said the Hon Kerry Sanderson AC CVO, WA Parks Foundation Chair.
“His thoughtful analysis and insightful input to the Foundation’s strategic pathways, conservation initiatives, cultural awareness and building of community links have been greatly appreciated.
Newly appointed to the Board is Katie Tovich, a senior executive with a chartered accountancy background and over 30 years’ resources industry experience in finance strategy and risk management, investor relations and corporate affairs – more recently, sustainability and Human Resources.
Katie has more than 10 years of Board engagement experience, and with a lifelong affection for the great outdoors, she volunteers regularly for maintenance work on the Bibbulmun Track.
“We warmly welcome Katie Tovich to the Board,” Kerry Sanderson said.

Tasmanian born Katie Tovich, recently appointed Director of the WA Parks Foundation Board, sees our State’s national parks and reserves as an opportunity for adventure and inspiration.
