Elisha Jacobs-Smith

Elisha Jacobs-Smith, Director, WA Parks Foundation

The WA Parks Foundation is pleased to welcome Elisha Jacobs-Smith to support the work of the Foundation as a Director.

Elisha is a Whadjuk Noongar man and has a background in cultural education and caring for Country. He is currently employed as Program Coordinator of Cultural Capability at Curtin University and Cultural Educator at Indigenous Economic Solutions (IES).

Elisha was previously employed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions as a Noongar Ranger in the Swan Region and as Project Officer of Aboriginal Programs in the Aboriginal Engagement and Heritage Unit.

Elisha loves visiting parks to connect with Country and culture.

“The gentle smells, sounds and sensations of nature are very healing and are strong reminders that Country holds so much identity and connection for us,” he explains.

Elisha also enjoys taking people into parks to learn and understand more about Country.
