Explore: Jazz Picnic in the Gardens

The National Trust and volunteers invite you and your family to the annual Jazz Picnic in the Gardens, at Old Blythewood, a beautiful old farmhouse on Bindjareb Noongar Country on a high bank overlooking the Murray River.

For tens of thousands of years prior to the existence of this house, the Bindjareb Noongar made the most of the rich natural environment of the area, using fire and other methods to encourage species they prized for sustainable farming, hunting, and gathering.

Held on Sunday 2nd October, from 12.30 pm, this is a special opportunity to relax in the springtime gardens at Old Blythewood whilst enjoying the sounds of smooth jazz, brought to you by Isabel Sargon of Vivid Music.

Between sets you can explore an acre of gorgeous gardens, take a tour of the house, or buy a raffle ticket to win a great prize and support the Old Blythewood Heritage Appeal. Please note, house tours are limited, so first in best dressed!

There will also be plenty to keep kids busy with free face painting, a play area and a scavenger hunt with prizes.

You are welcome to BYO picnic and tea and coffee will be available by donation.

Please note this is a zero rubbish event so please bring your own water bottle, mug or keep cup.

Bookings are essential and tickest sell out fast. For more information on the event and to plan your visit, please see www.nationaltrust.org.au/places/old-blythewood and follow @NationalTrustWA on Facebook.

This event is part of the Western Australian Heritage Festival, supported by Lotterywest.
