Smartreka maps extend their reach

The WA Parks Foundation’s Smartreka mapping series continues to expand and a decision to bundle maps where more than one map has been produced for a national park has been well received.
The Smartreka mapping initiative, developed in partnership with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, includes maps for 23 national parks and reserves. These are Wadjemup / Rottnest Island, Cape le Grande, Cape Range, D’Entrecasteaux, Dryandra, Fitzgerald River, Francois Peron, Kalbarri, Karijini, Kennedy Range, Lane Poole Reserve, Leeuwin-Naturaliste, Millstream Chichester, Mount Augustus, Porongurup, Purnululu, Stirling Range, Stokes, Torndirrup, Walpole-Nornalup, Walyunga, Wellington and Wadjemup/Rottnest Island, Yalgorup and Yanchep.
The maps use the built-in GPS on smartphone or tablet to plot real-time location. Provided they are downloaded ahead of a journey, they can be viewed without a network connection.
With more than 83,000 map downloads, these interactive maps are trusted and popular companions for local and international visitors exploring Western Australia’s awesome landscapes, from the gorges of Karijini and cliffs of the Kimberley to the wild southern coast and towering southern forests.
A Smartreka map for Kings Park will be available soon.
