National parks and reserves across Western Australia will be promoted and celebrated in the WA Parks Foundation’s Spring into Parks campaign 2024, supported by Lotterywest. Â
This community engaging initiative, now in its sixth year and coinciding with the wildflower season, focuses on the enjoyment and benefits of spending time in nature for improved health and wellbeing.Â
It also promotes WA’s incredible biodiversity, the importance of conserving our magnificent parks and reserves for present and future generations and the cultural significance of these areas.Â
“The Spring into Parks program the Foundation has put together in partnership with community groups is a special encouragement and opportunity for people to spend time in the natural environment,” said the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC CVO, WA Parks Foundation Chair.Â
“Spring into Parks celebrates our spectacular wilderness and access to nature through a diverse range of events and activities – from forest bathing to stargazing, hut building to flag making, nature journaling, and free family nature days.”Â
Another element of the program is a Wild Wonders of Western Australia photo competition with prizes from RAC Parks & Resorts, the Matagarup Zip and Climb, Matagarup Mini Golf, Camera Electronic, Two Feet and a Heartbeat, Mindful in Nature, and Naturally WA – Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions. Â
Linking with government, tourism and community-based organisations, Spring into Parks has previously featured more than 800 activities, across 200 parks and attractions state-wide and created more than two million social media impressions.Â
The 2024 campaign will run from September to November. Visit Spring into Parks – WA Parks Foundation (ourwaparks.org.au) for all the details.Â
