Feature Event: Accessible Wellbeing Experience at Crooked Brook Forest
Step into the gentle beauty of Crooked Brook Forest for a slow-paced wellbeing experience designed to be accessible for all.
This 3-hour guided session invites you to connect with nature through your senses — listening, touching, noticing, and simply being. Whether you move with wheels, walk, live with vision or hearing differences, are neurodiverse, or experience the world in your own unique way, this experience is shaped to welcome and support you.
Together we will:
- Explore the forest along accessible paths at an unhurried pace
- Pause for simple mindfulness practices (seated or standing)
- Enjoy tactile and sensory invitations — from holding leaves and seed pods to noticing bird calls and forest scents
- Express your connection creatively, with options like nature journaling, drawing, or quiet reflection
- Share a relaxed, picnic-style lunch with fresh, local food in an accessible picnic space
Carers, support workers, and companions are warmly welcomed and encouraged to take part. Companion Card holders may attend free of charge when accompanying a participant.
This experience is ideal for individuals, families, carers, and community groups who would like a restorative and inclusive time outdoors.
