Ancient Lands, Dark Skies, Aboriginal Cultural Tourism and Geoparks in Western Australia

“Ancient Lands, Dark Skies, Aboriginal Cultural Tourism and Geoparks in Western Australia” is the theme of a half day forum hosted by FACET (Forum Advocating Cultural & Eco-Tourism) on 26th March 2025.
This event will explore the latest developments and opportunities provided by WA’s ancient lands, night skies, Aboriginal cultural tourism and geoparks.
Keynote Speaker, Helen Jansen – Board Member and Immediate Past Chair of the Waitaki Whitestone Geopark Trust in New Zealand – will provide her insights on the “why and how” of creating a global geopark through her experience with the Waitaki Whitestone UNESCO Global Geopark.
Artists Ben Beeton and Mali Moir will speak about their latest Genestreaming Journey Sculptures project and how it will bring benefits and opportunities as it rolls out across WA.
Also hear the latest from Professor Ross Dowling AM – Chair of the Australian Geoparks Network and WA Parks Foundation Ambassador; Carol Redford – Founder and CEO of Astrotourism WA; Robert Taylor – CEO of WAITOC (Western Australian Indigenous Tourism Operators Council); Rennee Turner – owner/operator of Wooramulla Eco Cultural Journeys; and Mark White – Chair of the Nannup WA Geopark.
