Congratulations, rock star Ross

WA Parks Foundation Ambassador Professor Ross Dowling AM has been recognised for his contribution towards UNESCO Global Geoparks.  

The Certificate of Recognition announced at the Global Geopark Network Regional Conference in Brazil, was awarded for significantly supporting GGN’s development.  

It was accepted on Professor Dowling’s behalf by Professor Artur Sa, UNESCO chair on Geoparks, Sustainable Development and Healthy Lifestyles.  

“I am proud to be associated with the Global Geoparks movement and of my contributions to its development in New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, China, Iceland, Portugal, Spain, the US, Brazil and the Sultanate of Oman,” Professor Dowling said. 

Professor Dowling was the Foundation Professor of Tourism in the School of Business and Law, Edith Cowan University and is an international speaker on geotourism and geoparks.  

UNESCO Global Geoparks are single, unified geographical areas where sites and landscapes of international geological significance are managed with a holistic concept of protection, education, and sustainable development.Â
