Grants available for Swan Canning foreshore restoration

Local governments will share in up to $850,000 in funding as part of the latest round of Riverbank grants. 

The program, introduced in 2002, has contributed almost $30 million to nearly 350 projects that have improved the health and amenity of the Swan Canning Riverpark. 

Projects eligible for funding include revegetation, planting, and weed control. Also, infrastructure that protects Swan Canning Riverpark’s environmental, recreational, and cultural values. 

As part of the agreement, successful grant recipients must match State Government contributions, which has meant more than $60 million has been invested in foreshore restoration projects since the program was launched.
