Photo and video competition winners announced
The 2024 Wild Wonders of Western Australia photo competition conducted by the WA Parks Foundation in association with Spring into Parks, with excellent prizes to be won, attracted over 980 entries.
As in previous years, the high quality of many entries received made judging a challenge.
1st Prize: Ultimate Park Pack valued at $900+ was awarded to Bryan May for Branco’s Sunrise (Gibb River).
This includes a RAC Parks & Resorts accommodation voucher (worth $300), Matagarup Zip+Climb voucher for one (worth $165), Camera Electronic voucher (worth $200), Scitech Family Pass (worth $77), WA Parks Foundation individual membership, and an annual all parks pass (worth $180).
2nd Prize: $600+ Connect with Nature Pack went to Naidu Kumpatla for his entry entitled Parental Symphony!, captured at Herdsman Lake.
His prize includes: a Mindful in Nature Forest Bathing Tour in Kings Park voucher for two (worth $272); Two Feet and a Heartbeat Fremantle – Convicts, Culture and Street Art Tour for two (worth $130): a Matagarup Mini Golf Family Pass (worth $75): WA Parks Foundation individual membership; and an annual all parks pass (worth $180).
The three runners up are: Brian Yeo for Dancing with the waves (Red Bluff); Liam Drennan for First Light at Bluff (Bluff Knoll); and Harrison Green for Aurora and Milky Way at Boulders Rock (Midgegooroo National Park)
Each of the runners up receives a Spring into Parks Pack valued at $200+ that includes: a Hike Collective Voucher (worth $50); WA Parks Foundation Individual membership; and an annual all parks pass for free access to our national parks (worth $180).
The winner of our inaugural Instagram Video Competition on the same theme is Toni Battle for her entry entitled: Our Landscapes, Our Beaches, Our Wildlife, Our Sunsets – Our WA.
The Ultimate Nature Prize Pack valued at $1300+ includes: a Heyscape two-night Tiny Cabin Accommodation voucher (valued at $990); Camera Electronic voucher (worth $200); WA Parks Foundation individual membership; and an annual all parks pass (worth $180).
