‘WAGO Connections – A Celebration of Australian, Spanish and Celtic Music’

The WA Guitar Orchestra presents a variety of music in this heartfelt and joyful recital.

Western Australian history and nature is celebrated in The Catalpa Rescue and Nyinggulu. Unusual and very effective arrangements of well-loved classical and popular music contrast with original music by Australian composers, including two members of the Orchestra. A classical guitar concert would not be complete without the music of the Celtic world and Spain.

WAGO is a volunteer guitar orchestra that combines fundraising for charity with performing a combination of traditional and original music. Our members are involved in arranging and writing music for the orchestra and vary from enthusiastic amateurs to tertiary students and professional teachers and performers.

WAGO is directed by composer and guitarist Jane Darcey, who has recently completed a Master of Arts at WAAPA and is now enrolled in the PhD program.
