Whale Watching tour in the South West

Each year from June to early December, more than 35,000 whales migrate from Antarctica to the warm waters of the Margaret River Region, making it one of Australia’s premier whale watching destinations. Humpback, Southern Right, Minke and Blue Whales make the epic journey, with Augusta’s Flinders Bay offering spectacular viewing from June to August. Here, Humpbacks delight with breaching, tail-slapping and other acrobatic displays, while Southern Right whales often calve in the sheltered bay. As the season progresses, Humpback mothers and their calves move to the calm waters of Geographe Bay near Busselton and Dunsborough, where they rest and nurse from September to early December. Watch these magnificent creatures from the shoreline, the Cape to Cape Track, or a lighthouse lookout.
