Touring Kalbarri National Park

A family event to celebrate the recent opening of the Kalbarri Skywalk was one of the signature events of our Spring into Parks program in October.

As well as its opportunities to experience the magnificence of the Murchison River gorges this popular event offered canoeing, horse-riding, photography and stargazing tours, and a wilderness river cruise.

Participants also learnt about the ancient culture of the traditional owners, the Nanda people. Nanda artist Colleen Drage explained the stories that have inspired the interpretive and artistic elements that are such an important feature of the skywalk.

The varied and extensive Spring into Parks October-November program, built around a theme of Unleash Your Inner Wilderness Warrior, was made possible by WA Parks Foundation Founding Partner, Chevron Australia.
