Lightscape returning

Much loved Lightscape will return to Kings Park and Botanic Garden in 2026 with a bold new creative vision, unveiling a reimagined trail of light, sound and storytelling amid Western Australia’s extraordinary flora.

Running from Friday, 5 June to Sunday, 26 July 2026, the 1.8‑kilometre illuminated trail will once again transform the Western Australian Botanic Garden into a spectacular after‑dark experience.

Since 2023, Lightscape has drawn more than 400,000 visitors and earned its place as one of Perth’s premier cultural events.

The 2026 experience will guide visitors through the Western Australian Botanic Garden with more than 20 large-scale installations created by leading international artists, together with works from creative members of our WA community.

Among the highlights are ‘Herbum’, an acclaimed work by French artists TILT with stems stretching to eight metres high, and ‘Mycelium Network’, by United Kingdom-based artist Stevie Thompson, an installation that mimics the intricate networks of fungi.

Lightscape is presented by the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority, powered by Hancock Iron Ore, and supported by City of Perth and media partner Channel 9.
