Golden oldies on the road again
An engaging and highly successful tourism campaign featuring the adventures of a retired couple travelling the Kimberley is back again.
Magic Kimberley — The Sequel has been launched with a five-minute online video featuring endearing characters Denise and Michael returning for a new adventure on the Gibb River Road.
The roles are played by Kununurra locals Judy and Steve Farquhar, bringing authenticity and humour to their Aussie grey-nomad characters exploring the outback. The campaign features destinations such as the Gibb River Road, Fitzroy River, Bungle Bungle Range (Purnululu National Park), El Questro Station, Lake Argyle and the Mitchell Plateau.
Magic Kimberley – The Sequel was rolled out online and on social media, supported by a range of material including advertising, itineraries, blogs and a cooperative partnership with travel wholesaler Broome, Kimberley and Beyond that will provide special offers for consumers and additional marketing support.
The original Magic Kimberley campaign produced by Australia’s North West in 2019 was awarded the gold medal for Destination Marketing at the WA Tourism Awards and is in the running for the national awards to be presented next month.
