Ways to be Wild this spring

Spring is here, and it’s the perfect excuse to get outside. From 18 September, Spring into Parks returns.

Now in its eighth year, this WA Parks Foundation initiative celebrates the many ways to experience our state’s spectacular national parks, marine parks and reserves. Think coastal walks, wildflower trails, wildlife encounters, stargazing, forest bathing and plenty of family-friendly adventures.

Whether you’re chasing your first wildflower bloom, looking for a new walking trail, or simply want to slow down and enjoy some fresh air, there’s a way to connect with nature for everyone.

This year’s campaign, supported by Lotterywest and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, features Ways to be Wild, 30 Days of Wellness and the Memorable Moments in Nature Photo Competition, encouraging people of all ages to step outdoors, explore somewhere new and make the most of spring.

And there’s more to it than adventure. Spending time in nature can support our health and wellbeing, while exploring WA’s protected places helps us appreciate the biodiversity, cultural significance and conservation values they hold.

So, whether your idea of a perfect spring day is a hike through the bush, a morning by the coast, spotting wildlife or watching the stars, your next adventure could be closer than you think.
