Wild Goose Chase
The winding hills, gorges and valleys of the picturesque Avon Valley National Park will be the setting for the Wild Goose Chase Running Festival from 28 – 30 June.
The festival, part of Ultra Series WA points competition, is the newest multi day event on the Australian running calendar. Since the inaugural Wild Goose Chase event in 2017, it has grown into an outstanding selection of trail races over varying distances from 5kms for kids up to 177kms for the multi-day events.
The courses are designed to encourage and test all levels of ability, with entry conditions applying. Competitors in this delightful bushland setting will have plenty of elevation challenges and will be sharing the trails with an abundance of native wildlife.
The Wild Goose Chase Festival Village will be located at Cec Barrows campground at Morangup. Every race will start and finish there. Camping over the three-day event is encouraged and there is room for caravans and camper trailers.
The Avon Valley National Park, covering approximately 4,800 hectares, is about an hour’s drive north east of Perth, via Gidgegannup. The upland is jarrah, marri and powderbark forest; the valleys are forested with wandoo. The park also features granite outcrops and panoramic views over the Avon Valley.
There are limited facilities and development within the park making it ideal for visitors and campers looking for a more wilderness experience. For further information, including event registration details see:
